How to Check AirPods Batteries on iPhone, Apple Watch, and Mac

It’s easy to leave AirPod in the ear for hours. Want to check the percentage of your earbud’s battery before you hear that AirPods are almost out of juice? Here’s how to check your AirPods battery on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac.

Open Close AirPods Near Your iPhone or iPad

The simplest way to check the battery life of your AirPods, or AirPods Pro, is to open the case cover near your iPhone or iPad when opened.

You will see the Slide AirPods Connection Panel to the top. Along with connecting automatically to your device, it will also let you know the AirPods battery age and AirPods charging case.

If you want to see the battery life on individual AirPods, wear one bud and store another in the case.

Ask Siri on your iPhone or iPad

What if you are in the middle of a road or run, and you don’t want to lure your iPhone and your AirPods case? Well, you can ask Siri, how much juice is left in your AirPods.

You can do this from AirPods, your iPhone or iPad. Press and hold the “Side / Power” button on your iPhone or iPad, or double-tap / double-click on AirPods to call Siri.

From there, say something like, “How many batteries are left in AirPods?” or even something as short as “AirPods Battery.”

Siri will read the battery life from AirPods or AirPods Pro.

Add a Battery Widget on an iPhone or iPad

If you are a heavy user of the panel widget on your iPhone or iPad, you must use the Battery widget to monitor the battery life of all devices connected to your Apple smartphone or tablet. You will see Apple Watch, AirPods, Bluetooth headphones, and even external mouse battery life here.

To add the Battery widget, swipe left on the Home screen of your iPhone or iPad to bring up the “Today View” widget screen. Here, swipe to the bottom of the screen, and tap the “Edit” button.

Now, tap the Plus (+) button next to the “Battery” widget to add it to your list.

You can use the Handle icon to rearrange the Battery widget. When finished, tap the “Finish” button.

The Battery Widget will now show the connected battery life of your AirPods or AirPods Pro.

Use the Control Center on Apple Watch

Your Apple Watch can show the life of your AirPod battery that is connected from the Control Center.

To access the menu, swipe up from under the watch surface to open the Control Center. From there, tap the battery percentage icon. Here, under Apple Watch’s battery life, you will see your AirPods battery life.

This works if you connect AirPods directly to your Apple Watch, or if they are connected to an iPhone that is paired with Apple Watch.

Use the Bluetooth Shortcut Menu on Mac

Mac users only need to glance at the menu bar to see their AirPods battery life. After AirPod is connected, click the “Bluetooth” button in the menu bar.

Here, hover your cursor over your AirPod. From the menu, all can see the percentage of your AirPods battery and your AirPods case.
