How to View Saved Passwords in Safari on iPhone and iPad

It can be frustrating when you need to log in to a site on a different device or browser but you have lost your password. Luckily, if you previously saved those passwords using Safari on your iPhone or iPad, you can easily retrieve them. Here’s how.

First, launch “Settings,” which can usually be found on the first page of the Home screen or in your Dock.

1

Scroll down the list of Settings options until you see “Passwords & Accounts.” Tap on it.

2

Under “Passwords & Accounts”, tap “Website & App Passwords”.

3

After you get past authentication (using Touch ID, Face ID, or your passcode), you’ll see a list of stored account information arranged alphabetically by website name. Scroll or use the search bar until you find the entry with the password you need. Tap on it.

4

On the next screen, you will see detailed account info, including username and password.

5

If possible, memorize passwords quickly and try not to write them down on paper. If you often have trouble managing passwords, it’s best to use a password manager.
